Britain’s Got Talent has introduced the public to some wannabe stars that did actually become famous and people today recognize their faces.

And, while Susan Boyle is probably the most successful one, there are others including TOWIE, EastEnders, Hollyoaks, and Casualty.

But one of the youngest people who auditioned for the top British show is musician Maia Gough from South Wales.

When she appeared on the show, she was only 12 years old, but she already had a voice that sounded almost like a professional female singer.

Right before getting on stage, she was advised by the presenter to “enjoy” and “have fun”, and that’s exactly what the young girl did.

She appeared in front of the judges and, although one can tell that she was quite anxious, it was obvious that she was determined to impress them with her performance.

When judge David Williams asks her who has come to support her, she makes them laugh by explaining that pretty much all of her family has followed her to the show.

By then, Maia has relaxed enough to be ready to dazzle the audience with her beautiful voice.

When she’s asked who her favorite singer is, she replies that it’s Whitney Houston, and that she had actually prepared a Whitney Houston song for that audition.

At that point, everyone goes quiet and the song starts.

Even from the very first lyrics of Whitney’s hit song “I Have Nothing,” it’s clear that the girl is a shining star.

The judges obviously love her voice and they are shocked by the fact that such a young girl can sing so well.

In the meantime, the girl’s family backstage can’t believe how good she’s doing on stage and they’re ready to burst into tears.

When the song ends, Simon Cowell can’t help giving her a standing ovation and one can tell Maia couldn’t be happier. In fact, everyone else rises to their feet too.

The girl eventually made it to the Semi-Finals, where she sang another Whitney Houston song, “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength,” although she had tonsilitis.

“You got tonsillitis and you decide to sing one of the hardest Whitney songs. That takes guts and it worked,” Cowell commented at that time, while David added: “You did everyone in Wales proud. I am sure everyone is rooting for you.”

Maia’s performance left the judges speechless once again, but she didn’t garner enough votes to make it to the finals, but she never stopped singing.

Since then, she has kept nurturing her singing skills and is a second-year student at London’s Urdang performing arts school.

Maia also has a YouTube channel, where she shares her rendition of popular songs.

She also has an Instagram account in which she lets her followers know about her news, just like she did last year, when she announced that she was engaged.

The talented girl, who has now turned into a woman, may very well impress us in the future, just like she did a few years ago.
